Portville – MaryEllen Blakeslee of Portville passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Born May 30, 1937 in Willoughby, OH, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Theresa (Hill) Lette. On August 12, 1978, in Portville, she married Albert S. Blakeslee, Sr., who predeceased her March 22, 2015.

MaryEllen worked for Portville Central School for 21 years. She was a member of the OBI Community Church where she loved the Lord and reading the Bible. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, and her crossword puzzles. Her husband, children and grandbabies were her greatest loves.

She is survived by her children: Theresa Blakeslee of Portville, Nancy Livingston of Portville, Corrinna Hill of Olean, Albert Blakeslee Jr. of Ceres, Ronald Blakeslee of Buffalo, Brenda Greeley of Portville.; grandchildren: Ashley, Jessica, Toby, Sara, Aliana, Andrew; great grandchildren: Billy, Shane, Josh, Ricky, Jarod, Noah, Leah, Luno, Lexi, Bodi, Kobe, and Zander; great-great grandchild, Kamdyn; three sisters: Lilia, Elizabeth and Nettie May; two brothers: William and Maynard.

Family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (April 12, 2022) at 11am in the funeral home. Pastor David Cook from Obi Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
