Marylou E. Talbot Muir, beloved wife, mother and grandmother
Olean- Marylou Muir, of Taggerty Ave, Olean, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Salamanca Nursing Home.
Marylou was born in Hornell on May 6, 1952, she was the daughter of the late George and Rosalyn Talbot. On November 4, 1972, on the Talbot Farm, she married David Muir.
She was a graduate of Jasper Central School, class of 1971 and earned additional degrees from Olean Business Institute. Marylou worked for the Castle Inn Hotel and for Halmark Greeting Cards and had several cleaning and retail jobs. In July 1971, Marylou won the title of Miss Jasper. She enjoyed, reading, Facebook, and spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved to cook, especially for her family. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family.
Marylou is survived by her husband of 51 years, David; her children, Michelle Muir-Kusar of Pittsburgh, PA., and Michael Muir of Olean; 2 grandchildren, Teresa and Joseph Kusar of Pittsburgh PA.; siblings, Allen Talbot of Cameron, NY, Robert (Donna) Talbot of Alford, FL., and Patricia Talbot-Gross of Jasper, NY; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Rosalyn.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Gathering for Marylou on September 14, 2024 from 1pm-4pm at the American Legion in Olean. Burial will be in the Talbot Creek Cemetery in Jasper.
