Cuba- Maureen E. Brennan of Cuba, known to many as Mo, Grandma, Ging Ging, and Aunt Ging, passed away Sunday (November 13, 2022) at the Buffalo General Hospital.
Born September 14, 1939 in Olean, she was the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Rafferty Brennan. Maureen was a graduate of Olean High School. She was a hard-working woman and had worked in the housekeeping department at St. Bonaventure University for over thirty years. In 2008, she suffered a massive stroke, which left her partially paralyzed. After her stroke, she worked even harder to learn how to walk and regain the use of one of her arms.
In recent years, Maureen lived between her son and daughter’s homes and it enabled a unique and cherished relationship with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loveable lady. Maureen loved traveling to Charleston and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, going fishing, and going to the casino. Her routine of watching television shows, from the Price is Right to the Young and the Restless will be missed.
Maureen is survived by; two children, Dawn (Michael) Morris of Bolivar and Shawn (Debbie) Fowler of Cuba; six grandchildren, Luke (Kate) Campbell, Shane Campbell, Brittany Fowler, Tara (Chris Corder) Campbell, Emily Fowler, and Katey Fowler; three step-grandsons, Joshua, Matthew, and Kyle Morris; three great-grandchildren, Jeter, Ellis, and Gabriella Campbell; one brother, Michael (Bonnie) Brennan of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including two special nieces and goddaughter, Allie Hartley and Chauncy Crowley; and a close nephew, Scott (Gretchen) Coppella.
She was predeceased by; her longtime companion and soulmate, Allan Fowler, Jr., of Eldred, PA; an infant son, Jonathan Fowler; two sisters, Patricia McGranigan and Nancy (John) Coppella; and one brother, Steven Brennan.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Saturday (November 19, 2022) from 10am until noon. Funeral services will begin at noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
