Olean- Michael Barber, a former Olean resident, most recently a resident of the Absolut at Salamanca, passed away Tuesday (January 5, 2021) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born May 19, 1949 in Olean, he was the son of the late Claude and Bernice Lippert Barber.
Michael earned his Bachelors Degree from St. Bonaventure University and served in the National Guard. He was a salesman and business owner in the Olean area for many years. He was an avid golfer for much of his life, and enjoyed classic cars and woodworking.
Surviving are two sons; Joshua (Susan) Barber and James Barber; and four grandchildren; Jace, Ella, Wren, and Mila.
There will be no services will be held at this time. A private burial in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family.
