Olean- Michael B. Malick of Olean, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (September 21, 2021) at his home.
Born April 8, 1961 in Olean, he was the son of the late Bernard J. and Rita Robak Malick. On September 12, 1987 in St. Joseph’s Church in Olean, he married Tamara A. Hamed, who predeceased him on July 31, 2016.
Mike was a graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University. He was currently employed as the C.F.O. for Universal Primary Care in Olean.
Mike was a former parishioner at the former Transfiguration Church in Olean. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and St. Bonaventure Bonnies fan. He enjoyed his daily walks, listening to classic rock and 70’s music, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are two children; Joshua (Aubree) Malick of Olean and Natalie Malick of Rochester; three grandsons, Gabriel, Jameson, and Griffin; his mother-in-law, Isabel Hamed of Olean; his brothers-in-law; Chad Hamed of Olean, Jon (Laura) Hamed of Olean, and Jeff (Jackie) Hamed of Owego; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mike was predeceased by his sister, Judith Malick; and father-in-law, Norm Hamed.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Friday (September 24, 2021) from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
