Myrtle M. Carr

Olean-Myrtle M. Carr, of 2421 Blakeslee Hollow Road, Olean, passed away Tuesday (June 1, 2021) at the Olean General Hospital.

Born June 4, 1933 in Humphrey, she was the daughter of Roy Griffith, Sr., and Dorothy Chapman. She married, Howard Aldrich, who predeceased her and later married James Carr, who also predeceased her.

Myrtle managed the Tour-o-Tel motel in Salamanca for many years.  In her free time, she loved going to the casino.

Surviving are her children; Linda (Max) Tyler of Cuba, Connie Lamper of Pennsylvania, and Nancy Boon of Olean; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Sandra) Griffith of Olean and Ben Griffith of Eldred, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her son, Johnny Aldrich, her siblings; Leo Hadley, Roy Griffith, and Mildred Reagle; and one granddaughter, Kristin Tyler.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Friday (June 4, 2021) from 11am-1pm.  Funeral services will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
