Nancy Lee Guenther, loving mother, grandma and nana
Cape Coral, FL- Nancy Lee Guenther, a longtime Portville resident passed away Friday (May 31, 2024) at Hospice Healthcare in Cape Coral, Florida
Born on December 26, 1944 in Kane, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elsie Jordan Biel. She married Herman N. Guenther in Johnsonburg, Pa., who predeceased her in May 2021.
Nancy worked at Powder Metal Products in St. Mary’s PA prior to her marriage to Herman. She was a stay-at-home mom for most of the younger years of her children. In her later years, she worked at the Park and Shop, Jan’s Donut Shop and Fibercell in Portville.
Nancy enjoyed gardening at her home in Portville and had a picture of her and her hibiscus printed in the Olean Times Herald. She was so proud of that plant. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and spending as much time as possible with them. She also enjoyed ceramic classes and playing bingo, along with computer games at home, mostly solitaire. She absolutely loved spending time at the casino where she was very lucky in winning.
Surviving is a daughter, Rhonda (Scott Jennings) Guenther of Cape Coral FL., and Kurt Guenther of Orlando, FL.; six grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Kyle Morris, Kurt, Kole and Linnea Guenther; ten great-grandchildren, Brayden, Elena, Luke, Treyson, Madison, Tucker, Logan, Alayna and Jace and soon to be Jack; one sister, Bonita Biel Sorg of Johnsonburg, Pa.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Herman; her parents, Walter and Elsie; four brothers, Frank Austin, William (Bill) Austin, John (Jack) Biel and Robert (Bobby) Biel; two sisters, Clara Austin Milks and Patricia Biel Nelson
Friends and family will be received Saturday, (June 8, 2024) from 11am – 1pm at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main St, Portville. A funeral service will begin at 1pm in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Anthony Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
