Patricia A. Zandi Obituary

Patricia A. 'Pat' Zandi, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt
OLEAN --- Patricia A. (Pat) Zandi, of Olean, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center, PA, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born in Olean on August 8, 1936, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Pauline Wojtulski Eade. On October 15, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Church in Olean, she married Deno Zandi, who predeceased her on November 20, 2019.

Pat graduated from Olean High School. After high school, she spent her career working for the Olean City School District in different capacities. You may have seen her or worked with her at: Olean High School, Olean Middle School, Old School #4, or East View Elementary. She retired from Olean Middle School in 1999.

Pat had many hobbies and interests. In years past, Pat was an avid bowler. Pat and her bowling teammates participated in many tournaments out of town. Crocheting was a favorite pastime; she made many beautiful items that she gave to family and friends. Along with her good friend Gerda, she and Pat travelled the country to places like: Branson, MO, Nashville, TN, Las Vegas, NV, Florida and Utah. Pat also enjoyed day trips with her friends that included a visit to nearby casinos and shopping. Every summer Pat looked forward to spending time at her cottage on Cuba Lake. Pat was well known for her laugh that could be heard from quite a distance!

In more recent years, Pat enjoyed her morning coffee at AOH (Hibernians) with her friends. She loved watching TV. Her favorite shows were Netflix series, Yellowstone, Movies on TCM and Westerns. She and her sister Lorraine spent many afternoons watching TV together. Pat had many close friends and family she talked with daily by phone. Her grandson Zachary called her almost every day.

Pat is survived by two children, Paula (Jeff Szucs) Zandi of California and Paul and (Melanie) Zandi of Florida; a grandson, Zachary Zandi of Florida; a sister, Lorraine Ranallo of Olean; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; her very close friends, Nancy, Tina, Barb Joan, Barb C., Lisa and Joe; and her canine companion, Jackson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Deno; her parents, Mitchell and Pauline; and a brother-in-law, Paul Ranallo.

Pat was a fighter. She battled many health issues in recent years. Pat was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. She survived many rounds of cancer treatments, operations and procedures since that time, and made it all the way to 2024 – how amazing is that! Pat was able to remain at home until the last few months. She had some very special nieces and nephews who helped her especially in the last few months – special thank you to Mary Beth, Glenn, Sissy, Aline, Ann and Anthony.

Since late April she spent most of her time in the hospital. A great thank you to Nick who helped her obtain the oxygen equipment she needed to have in order to return home. Unfortunately, she was only able to be home for one day before returning back to the hospital.

Pat spent only a few days at the Bradford Pavilion facility. The staff there is excellent, beyond compare and treated her with great care.

Thank you to all of the Olean and Roswell doctors and nurses who cared for Pat through the years.

Pat is now residing in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Everyone who knew Pat loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed!
