Portville- Paul O. Depp, 81, Portville, NY, passed away August 7, 2023, after a long illness.
Mr. Depp was Born June 22, 1942, in Punxsutawney, PA, the son of the late Henry Wade and Mary Smith Depp. On June 10, 1961, he married M. Jane Mauk, who survives.
Mr. Depp was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He retired in 2018 for the 2nd time after 46 years from the former Olean Wholesale Grocery Co-op. He also worked at Jefferson Grocery and S M Flickengers. He was a member of the Olean Eagles. He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Depp was an avid hunter and enjoyed many hunting trips to Gogama, ON, Canada. He coached his children and grandchildren in baseball and softball. When not coaching, he was an avid fan of watching them play all their sports. He enjoyed watching and attending many Buffalo Bills games and the St. Bonaventure Men’s and Women’s Bonnies teams.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include three children; John (Ann) Depp of Friendship, NY, Robert (Joyceann) Depp of Brunswick, Georgia, and Jennifer (Tim) Skroback of Portville. Six grandchildren, Summer (Judd) Carney, Bridgette (Ryan) Yates, Adam (Amber) Depp, Trevor (Brianna) Depp, Brooke (Michael Schneider), McKenzie (Alex) Powell. 11 great-grandchildren; Hannah, Darian, Harmony, Seth, Jacie, Kaeden, Maddison, Chloanne, Georgia, River, and Ryder. A sister, Judy Dinger of Stanton, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Depp, Harold Depp, and Henry Depp; a sister Jean Leisure.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville, on Wednesday (August 9, 2023) from 4-6 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
