Richard J. McCartan

May 6, 1957 – October 7, 2023

ASHVILLE --- Richard J. McCartan of Ashville, passed away on Saturday (October 7, 2023) at the Warren Manor with his brother by his side. 

He was born in Olean, on May 6, 1957 and was the son of Robert McCartan and Elizabeth Scott Bennett.

He attended Wayne & Portville Central Schools and worked for Frazier Industrial Company in Waterloo for many years before moving to Ashville. His favorite hobbies were cooking, grilling, smoking meat to share with family & friends and gardening. 



He is survived by his four daughters, Crystal McCartan of Portville, Christian Stenstrom of Jamestown, Richelle McCartan of Buffalo, their mother, Debora Windnagle of Portville, Shelby McCartan and her mother, Barbara Oberdorf both of Romulus; his grandchildren, Madison Baldwin, Ethan & Ava Stenstrom and Skye, Raven & Jasper Fulkrod; three brothers Mike, Don & Jim McCartan, a sister, Lynda McCartan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Anne Mitchell. 



There will be a celebration of life at the family’s convenience.
