Robert J. Anastasia, Sr.
Olean- Robert J. Anastasia, Sr., of Olean, passed away Wednesday (December 27, 2023) at home surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Olean, on July 20, 1949, and was the son of the late Anthony (T-Bone) and Virginia Page Brown.
Bob was a graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School, where he participated in varsity football, wrestling and track. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in Germany for three years.
Bob worked at Olean Advanced Products Corporation (AVX) as a process technician for many years, retiring on July 22, 2011. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the AVX golf league and the Moose golf league, and enjoyed watching all sports especially his beloved Buffalo Bills. He was a member of St. John’s Church and the Fraternal order of Eagles # 616.
Bob is survived by his loving companion, Kathleen Mills Grandusky; two sons, Robert J. Anastasia, Jr., of Olean, and William (Tricia) Anastasia of Olean; two daughters, Kimberly Anastasia (Jon Howard) of Smethport, PA and Christine Randall of Jacksonville, FL Ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Tony Joe (Donna) Anastasia of Allegany, Gail (Tom) Goodridge Wehn of Erie, PA; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Virginia.
The family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean, on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. (January 4, 2024). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (January 5, 2024) at 10am at St. John’s Church, Olean. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
