Robert F. Stritof, Sr.

Olean- Robert F. Stritof, Sr., of 1386 Windfall Road, Olean, passed away Saturday (October 2, 2021) at the Olean General Hospital.

Born September 21, 1931 in Olean, he was the son of the late, Anne Ross.  He married Helen Skinner, who survives.

At an early age, Bob found enjoyment in mechanics.  He worked his way through the ranks to one day his own Mobil gas station, and for that he was very proud. He enjoyed the company of so many, from his grandchildren and kids, to his Mobil customers. His fondest memories are the conversations with the people he met throughout his life.  Bob especially took pride in the relationships he had with not only his own children, but his grandchildren. He took pride in sharing his life lessons and helping them find inspiration in whatever they did.

Bob enjoyed politics, MSNBC, NASCAR, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.  He also enjoyed the Larry Lewicki and the Crosby Pennsylvania Polkas and Molly-B Polkas bands.  He loved traveling to Florida in the winter and sitting outside on his porch. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by; two daughters, Joyce (Ray) Scanlon and Barbara (Gary) Lickfeld; nine grandchildren, Matthew (Leah) Scanlon, Brian (Jenelle) Scanlon, Eric (Sarah) Lickfeld, Kris “Boomer” (Leanne) Lickfeld, Garen (Matt) LeRoy, Bobby (Candace) Stritof, Susan (Eric) Wade, and Timmy Stritof, thirteen great-grandchildren; and one niece, Anne (Mike) Walters.

He was predeceased by; his mom; step-father, John J. Ross; one brother; one son, Robert Stritof, Jr.; one nephew, and his granddaughter, Kelly Scanlon.

Funeral and burial services will be private.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
