Robin A. Gergel grew up in Allegany, loving mother and grandmother

Allegany- Robin A. Gergel, who resided in Allegany most of her life, most recently of Klawitter Rd in Great Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville.

Robin was born in Olean on August 3, 1968. She was the daughter of Marc and Winnifred (Winnie) Gergel.

Robin was a 1987 graduate of Allegany High School. She loved gardening, growing roses, and raising her chickens and rabbits. She enjoyed crafting in her spare time.

Robin is survived by her longtime companion, Dean Maynard; her father, Marc Gergel; her son, Michael (Brittany) Gergel; a daughter, Amber Schwartz; five grandchildren, including Amber’s daughter, Elizabeth; Dean and Robin’s granddaughter, Lilly; and Michael’s three children; a brother, Gregory (Melanie) Gergel; and a sister Jessica (Scott) Hitchcock.

She was predeceased by her mother, Winnifred (Winnie) Gergel.

There is no visitation or formal service. A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date and time to be announced.
