Ronald James Chapman

West Clarksville- Ronald James Chapman, of West Clarksville, passed away on Monday (January 29, 2024) at home after a short illness.

Ronald was born on April 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Desmond and Beatrice Milgate Chapman. On December 15, 1951, he married the former Elizabeth Lamberton, who predeceased him.

Ronald worked for Abbott’s Machine Comp. in Olean. He enjoyed playing guitar and country music. He would play with various bands in the area,

Ronald is survived by his children, Shirley (Robin) Pierce of Olean, Cheryl (Robert) Warner of Obi, Rick (Delores) Chapman of Portville, Sharon (Bernard) Simmons of Belfast, Ron (Buffy) Chapman Jr., of Florida, Raymond Chapman of West Clarksville, and Cathy Chapman of Gainsville, TX; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Chapman of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Desmond and Beatrice; his wife Elizabeth; sons, John Wilson, Randall Chapman and Royce Chapman; siblings, Gary Chapman, Norma Hubbard, Roger (Bud) Chapman, and Patricia Chapman.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main St, Portville, on Thursday (February 1, 2024) from 11-1pm. Service to follow at 1pm in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Anthony Evans will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
