Ruth M. Morrow, Wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother

Olean - Ruth M. Morrow of Olean passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation, with her loving family by her side.

Born at home in Duke Center, PA, on July 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Rosella McGavisk Warters. On June 26, 1954, she married Hugh Allen Morrow at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Eldred, PA. Hugh ”Al” passed away in 2018.

Ruth worked for the Olean Tile Company as a tile mounter. She was a Life Member of the Westons Mills Fireman’s Auxiliary. Spending time with her children and grandchildren gave her great joy.

Ruth is survived by her children, Karen L. Cornell, and Kip A. (Lisa) Morrow; grandchildren, Dana Cornell, Meghan (Lucas) Johnson, Justin Morrow, Brandon (Jordan Geary) Morrow, and Torianne (Alex Field) Morrow; great-grandchildren, Tommy Morrow, Lincoln Cornell, Parker Cornell, Cash Johnson, and Kane Johnson; and siblings, Jean Dutton and Herbert Warters.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh “Al”, in 2018; a son, Jeffrey A. Morrow, in 1996; her parents, John and Rosella; her grandchildren, Kristen Lee Cornell and Adam John Cornell; her siblings, Katherine Kennedy, Robert Warters, Donald Warters, Patricia Firkel, and Dorothy Stead.

The family will receive friends at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.
