Samuel L. Siemoens Loving Companion
Portville – Sam Siemoens, 77, passed away on Tuesday (November 1, 2022) at home under the care of Hospice. Born July 4, 1945 in Ridgway, PA, he was the son of the late Louis and Martha Horning Siemoens, Jr..
Sam spent most of his life in Portville, graduating from Portville Central School in 1963. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Houghton in 1967, then went on to earn a Master’s in education from Geneseo in 1968. Shortly after graduating, Sam became an assistant in the microbiology department for SUNY and Upstate Medical University. He assisted in the discovery of the mechanism for enzyme kinetics in microorganisms. Sam then established his own fundraising company, Fundraising Athletic Sportswear Programs Inc., which was headquartered in Syracuse. Sam was both CEO and leading sales executive of the company for 27 years. He was very proud of the company that he built. The company generated hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly while helping youth throughout New York state.
After selling his company he pursued a career as a Bio Feedback therapist. As a therapist he used different frequencies to test and analyze health issues inside the body. After retiring from being a therapist, he devoted the rest of his life to youth by substituting in the local area schools. As a certified substitute he loved assisting students in the area and helped them achieve their independent goals and education. He was extremely supportive to all the youth in the area and touched thousands of lives.
Sam is survived by his long-term loving and supportive companion Mary Carol Machak; and two daughters, Sheryl and Sandra.
Family will receive friends at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville on Saturday (November 5, 2022) from 11am-1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Anthony L. Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at the convenance of the family.
