Shirley A. Crawford

Portville- Shirley Ann Crawford, a longtime Portville resident, passed away Tuesday (August 8, 2023) at her daughter Diane’s home.

Born April 9, 1935, in Portville, she was the daughter of John and Alice Rix Garrey.  On April 28, 1956, she married the love of her life Arthur A. Crawford, who predeceased her on June 8, 2016.

Shirley was a graduate of Portville Central School, class of 1953. She worked for the former A.V.X in Olean until her retirement.

She is survived by; one son, Dennis Crawford of Hugo, MN; two daughters, Diane (Scott) Duffney of Bolivar; and Debra (Andy) Jones of Clarendon, PA; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister Janet Hitchcock of Allegany; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is predeceased by; two sons, Douglas Crawford, Jr., and Duane Crawford.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, on Friday (August 11, 2023) from 11am-12pm. Funeral services will follow at 12pm. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
