Shirley May Hale

Shirley May Hale, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Olean- Shirley May Hale, of Olean, passed away at the Pines of Olean on Saturday, May 18, 2024, after a short illness.

Shirley was born in Covington, NY on December 15, 1933. On April 14, 1951, in Olean she married her husband of 62 years Thomas E. Hale, who predeceased her on October 3, 2013.

Shirley enjoyed being with her family.  She was a homemaker and always enjoyed hosting the holidays and cooking everyone’s favorite dishes. Other interests were feeding and watching birds, tending to her flower garden, Puzzles and a good game of Yahtzee.

Shirley is survived by her two children, Sherry (Gordon) Hale Maker, Lori Hale Foskit; three grandchildren, Penny Chudy, Kevin (Beth) Foskit, Kyle (Jen) Foskit. four great grandchildren and a niece Amy Reidel Kline.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, a brother Walter Wheaton and a sister, Brenda Reidel.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service, Saturday, May 25, 2024 at noon, at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St, Olean.
