Stephen C. Ensell – Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather

Portville – Stephen C. Ensell of 276 Prosser Road, passed away Tuesday (November 1, 2022) at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness.

Born September 25, 1944 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Arlene M. Foster Ensell. On April 22, 1967 in Olean, he married the former Nancy L. Jones, who survives.

Stephen graduated from Portville Central School, then went to work for Olean Wholesale as a truck driver. Stephen was an avid race car fan and he enjoyed watching his son Eric, drive in local races. He also enjoyed watching his daughter Sheri play in numerous softball games and tournaments. Stephen was most fond of going to his grandchildren’s sporting events and he also loved to spend time with them and his great grandson, Weston.

Besides his wife, Stephen is survived by; three children, Eric S. (Aimee) Ensell of Obi, Sheri L. Ensell of Portville and Sean C. Ensell of Olean; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bauer, Caleigh Zollinger, Caiden Zollinger, Alexis Welch and Erika Ensell; one great grandchild, Weston Murphy; a brother, John (Deb) Ensell of Portville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by; a son, David C. Ensell; and two sisters, Phyllis Dennis and Joann Adams.

Per Stephen’s request, there will be no services.
