Portville-Teri J. Ferrington, formerly of Portville, went to be with Lord on Thursday (September 21, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital.
Teri was born on August 1st, 1954, in Cuba and was the daughter of the late “Bud” and Marilyn Ferrington. She was a graduate of Portville Central School, class of 1973.
Teri was a long-standing Obi Community Church member and attended Total Senior Care in Olean. She had a great love for music and collected records and cassette tapes. She also had a big collection of turtles and really loved animals sometimes even more than she did people. Teri enjoyed camping with her family at Rainbow Lake.
She is survived by; her sister Rhea Childs who helped care for her; her nieces Angela (Jeff) Sherwood, and Andrea (Don)Duvall; eleven nieces and nephews; Alicia (Justin) Hollenbeck, Kaitlyn (William) Marburger, Jeffrey Sherwood, Daniel Sherwood, Noah (Kayla) Duvall, Jeremiah Duvall, Lillian Duvall, and Josiah Duvall; three great-nieces and nephew Carter, Everleigh, and Josephine Hollenbeck.
In addition to her parents, Teri was predeceased by one brother, Richard Ferrington, and a brother-in-law, James Childs.
A memorial service for Teri will be held on Sunday (September 24, 2023) at 2 p.m. at the Obi Community Church, 1948 Route 305, Cuba. Pastor David Cook will officiate. Burial will be in West Genesee Cemetery, Obi, and at the convenience of the family.
