Portville-Timothy D. Fairbanks of 364 Butternut Brook Road, Portville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (May 23, 2023) at the Buffalo General Hospital.
Born September 11, 1943, in Olean, he was the son of the late Robert and Ione Marsh Fairbanks. On November 11, 1967, he married the former Karen Nordlund, who predeceased him on June 25, 2004.
Tim was a graduate of Portville Central School and received his associate degree from SUNY Delhi. He worked for many years at the former AVX in Olean and later for Thruway Fasteners in Tonawanda.
He was a vintage car hobbyist, especially fond of his MG cars and collecting racing memorabilia. Tim enjoyed his trips to Myrtle Beach and Watkins Glen and he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by; his daughter Kimberly (Mark) Heister of Olean; six grandchildren, Ciara Heister, Calista Heister, Marina Heister, Dylan Kane, Mariah Kane, and Alaina Kane; one brother, Robert (Barbara) Fairbanks of Portville; one son-in-law, Thomas Kane of Plum, PA; and a very dear friend and companion Diane Williams-Felmlee.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Darcy (Fairbanks) Kane on March 17, 2017.
A memorial service for Tim will be held on Saturday (May 27, 2023) at 11 am at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville. Rev. Marilyn Hale, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Portville will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, at the convenience of the family.
