Little Genesee- Troy Louis Maurouard, age 49, passed away suddenly in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 6, 2021. He was born on February 11, 1971, in Olean, NY to the late Linda Maurouard Stritof.
Troy attended multiple schools in New York and proudly obtained his GED. After years of work in the construction field, Troy proudly became the owner and proprietor of PMT Services.
He is survived by his soulmate, Tirzah Matya; three children, Michael (Shauna) Maurouard, Samantha Tohafjian, Mckena Mathis and a stepson, Tristan Mathis; six grandchildren: Amber Edwards, Trenton Maurouard, Carson Maurouard, Rylee Maurouard, Erik Philips, and Jerry Philips; his siblings, Scott Barone, Anne (Jeffrey) Crouch, Bobby (Candace) Stritof, Susan (Eric) Wade, and Jody Murphy. Troy also shared a close connection with two nephews, Garrett Maurouard, Trevor Crouch and his niece, Tiffany Nolan. In addition, Troy had a large extended family of aunts/uncles (Laurie, Lisa, Tim, Ron), cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Troy was the kind of person who would walk into a room of strangers and make friends with them all. He had the kindest heart and was always willing to help anyone that needed it. He took a lot of pride in his construction business. Troy also enjoyed kayaking, fishing, riding his Harley, and had an amazing green thumb. He was loved fully and deeply by his family and friends. Over the years, Troy became like family to many friends.
He will be forever remembered for his boundless energy, interesting stories, and his continuous pursuit of the next “big idea”. He left us too soon, he will be deeply missed, loved, and never forgotten.
Troy was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Joan Maurouard, his maternal mother, Linda Stritof and his stepfather, Robert Stritof, Jr., an infant grandson, Bradley Philips, his Aunt Tammy, and his cousin, Tyrone Robbins. Troy shared a special and forever bond with grandparents, Joseph and Joan Maurouard.
A Celebration of Troy’s life will be held later this year when Covid-19 restrictions are removed, and we can gather together. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
