Vita M. Stebbins, loving mother and grandmother

Olean- Vita M. Stebbins, of Olean, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Olean General Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Vita was born in Olean on May 26, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Vincent James and Catherine Palumbo Bello.

Vita graduated from Olean High School. She worked for Jane’s Bridal shop before being married to Victor Stebbins Jr. and became a devoted mother, raising her two children. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved making ceramics at C & M Studios, traveling to regional ceramic shows. Vita received a Freddie Award, the highest honor in hobby ceramics.

Vita is survived by her children, Valarie (David) Spring and Victor (Debra) Stebbins III; grandchildren, Alicia Stebbins, William (Olivia) Stebbins, Christopher (Felicity) Stebbins and Jillian Stebbins; and her former husband Victor Stebbins Jr.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Catherine.

The family will be holding a private burial at their convenience in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St. Olean.
