William J. Olkosky, special son, uncle, and family member
Olean- William J. Olkosky, of W. Fall Rd, Olean, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at home.
Billy Joe was born in Olean, on April 19, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph Olkosky and Estella Pockalny Olkosky Wood, who survives.
Billy Joe, was affectionately known as “Uncle Bill” lived the extraordinary “the best life ever”. He traveled across the continent with stops in Hershey Park, Florida, and the Bahamas. Locally, Billy Joe over the years enjoyed his many activities with friends and the support staff of SubCon.
He was Olean’s car extraordinaire and loved cars from automobiles to diecast. And he would always remember and recall all those makes and models of every single care you ever owned. Every time “Sister Boo” would visit him, he would ask what car she drove today.
Sundays were always special times for Billy Joe, as his mom, cousin Kathy, and Sister Boo would spend the afternoon with him talking, laughing and reminiscing. He would always request the prior week what food or drink to bring. Didn’t matter if it was Spanish Rice, fish fry, or just a specialty drink from Tim Hortons. Billy Joe always enjoyed his family, food, and drinks (not necessarily in that order) every Sunday.
Deeply spiritual, Billy Joe was a devout Catholic who had trust, faith, and love for the Lord. He would always ask how everyone is doing and showed equal love, friendship, and compassion towards others. He fondly remembered those that passed and always kept them in his thoughts and prayers.
Billy Joe is survived by his mother Estella Wood; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Terry) Covert; a niece, Jessica (Joseph) Bordoy, great nieces and nephews, Chase, Logan, Brennan and Evalina; and a cousin, Kathy Baldwin.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph; a brother, Stephen Olkosky; stepfather, Keith Wood; a cousin, Josie Underwood; and an uncle, Al Olkosky.
